It's good to float

3rd January 1997 at 00:00
The Amateur Swimming Association and BT have joined forces to ensure that children will be able to swim by the time they are 11, which is one of the aims of the national curriculum. The initiative is part of the national curriculum training programme, created in response to the Government's policy statement, Sport: raising the game. Teachers will be offered short training courses in each education authority over the next three years funded by the proceeds from the BT Swimathon charity.
