Jannie rules

16th September 2005 at 01:00
Thanks to the Herald's Diary column for pointing to the continuing attempts by janitorial staff to do what's best for education - often in vain.

The jannie at Anniesland College in Glasgow spotted a lecturer attempting to stick a poster giving directions to her class over a plaque which contained Braille information for visually impaired students. Naturally, he remonstrated in the normal gentle janitorial style.

After enquiring where she could stick her directions, the jannie pointed to the large television screen at reception, which gives class locations and times. "That's whit the plasma screen's fur," he explained, then watched as the lecturer plastered her poster over the screen.
