Journey to England

A Welcome Experience is an excellent PHSEcitizenship programme of work for KS1-2 aimed at making refugee pupils' experiences more comprehensible to their new friends as well as to themselves. Younger children will enjoy such activities as "making a journey in your head" or talking about how different colours reflect different feelings. Creating dramatic dialogues or mapping "fortune lines" that show how lives change will engage older children and help them learn about others. A Welcome Experience booklet costs pound;12.99. Send a cheque made payable to Westminster EAZ to Carolyn Herbert, SEG - Millbank, Millbank School Site, Erasmus Street, London SW1P 4HR.
