"JOB coaches" will be recruited for young people on the New Deal programme, as there is evidence that thousands are failing to hold onto jobs. Four in 10 have literacy and numeracy problems and many have little idea of punctuality, presentation or behaviour at work. Tessa Jowell, the employment minister, is setting up a pilot study with consultants Morgan, Stanley Dean Witter to test the idea.
