Just like the real thing

Mahruf Ahmed plays panpipes which he made himself in a musical project for pupils aged nine to 11 at Byron primary school in Bradford. Their creations, which include guitars and drums, will be tested for authentic sound quality using state-of-the-art equipment supplied by Bradford university. They will then be able to see how closely their instruments resemble the genuine article using an oscilloscope. Photograph by LORNE CAMPBELLGUZELIAN
