Louise, Oliver and Hassan, P3, tell Julia Belgutay what they would like to learn about in class

Hassan: I want to learn about the world. I want to learn about, like, it's really interesting! I am curious about it. I always ask questions like what that word means, and that word means. I always ask all those questions to my mum.

Oliver: I know what I want to learn about. I want to learn about countries. How people get killed in them.

Hassan: How people get killed?

Oliver: In South America, they get their finger cut off, but I don't know what else happens. I want to know how they are bad and how they actually get killed.

Hassan: Cos they are doing bad stuff, you.

Oliver: I know, but how? What type of bad stuff?

Hassan: Like killing people, hurting people, hurting people's noses so they can't breathe.

Louise: I want to learn about playing. I'm not quite sure what. But I would like to play more.

Hassan: I want to study about Robert Burns.

Oliver: I want to study jungle animals and famous people. I have four things I want to study at university, because I have been to the university. I have been to the university library with my auntie because she is a student.

Hassan: What is a student?

Oliver: At university, I want to learn to become a stuntman.

Hassan: I want to be a stuntman.

Oliver: Then you absolutely get thousands of money.

Louise: I want to learn more about Robert Burns. I want to learn how he died. We used to learn it in P2 and I want to learn more.

Hassan: We just learned about three people - Robert Burns, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Mary Queen of Scot.

Oliver: Scots!

Hassan: They died because Robert Burns was too sick, Mary Queens of Scots got her head chopped off and Bonnie Prince Charlie ...

Oliver: Yeah, she got her head chopped off by a lawyer.

Hassan: Bonnie Prince Charlie, he died because he lost in a battle.

Oliver: No, because a lady took him and he had to dress up in her clothes. I want to learn about lizards, frogs, all those little things.

Hassan: I want to learn about desert animals. I don't want to learn about Africa.

Louise: I don't want to learn about maths.

Hassan: Oh, I don't want to learn about maths.

Oliver: I don't want to learn about anything like numbers, and maths, and words. The only thing I want to learn about is writing stories. Because that is fun.
