Kirklees committee is alive and well;Letter

COLLEAGUES here were taken aback to read of the demise of the Kirklees Education Committee (TES, June 13). It is, in fact, alive and very much in business.

We expect to focus executive decisions on a slimmed down committee from September and to give clearer emphasis to separate policy and scrutiny forums but we will be hanging back from more radical change for a little while yet.
