Laptop pilot takes off

16th October 2009 at 01:00

The Assembly government's long-awaited laptop for schools project has finally been given the go-ahead.

Plans to give every primary pupil their own personal computer were first laid out in Labour and Plaid Cymru's One Wales power-sharing agreement two years ago, and #163;700,000 funding has already been set aside for the pilot.

The government will now identify suitable primary schools in deprived areas to take part in the pilot.
