Lax age checks on gambling websites

30th July 2004 at 01:00
* A report by children's charity NCH this week revealed the lax age checks on gambling websites, allowing children to register and play.

A 16-year-old girl was able to log on to sites designed for over-18s using a Solo debit card, which is available to children aged 11 and over.

Age verification software should be used by gambling website owners to stop minors gambling, the report concluded.
