Letters extra: those who live in glass houses ...

How predictable that Alan Smithers should once more be invited to pass comment on initial teacher education. As an ex-colleague of the professor's I recall his studied failure to make a single contribution to any of that institution's teacher training programmes. A case of glass houses....or ivory towers?
