In response to Lindsay Peer's letter, I must point out that she is not a member of the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Her record of the meeting with Sir Ron Dearing also conveys a wrong impression. National curriculum assessment continues to be based on levels. SCAA is committed to looking at ways of reflecting the small steps of achievement which many pupils with special needs make within these level.
