Lib Dem pledge
The party has reiterated its policy of adding a penny to the basic rate of income tax "if necessary" to fund expansion. It promises an extra Pounds 200 million a year in Scotland.
Jim Wallace, the party's Scottish leader, said: "Our teachers cannot teach properly in dilapidated buildings with worn, outdated books and equipment. Our children deserve better."
The party aims to limit primary class sizes to 30, upgrade buildings, invest in new technology, strengthen the 5-14 and Standard grade curricula and review the Higher Still timetable.
