Lib Dems jobs fear

Class sizes will rise further as a result of the predicted loss of more than 5,000 teacher jobs, the Liberal Democrats claim.

Don Foster, the Lib Dems education spokesman, said a survey of more than a quarter of local education authorities showed substantial cuts can be expected. "Despite the budget hype of an extra Pounds 878 million for schools there is in fact no new money from the Government for education."said Mr Foster.
