LANGUAGE CARDS INTERACTIVE: NOUNS. pound;59.99+VAT for single user to Pounds 299.75+VAT for site licence. Sherston (www.ldalearning.com)

LDA and Sherston have joined forces to produce an interactive version of the language cards that LDA has become well-known for. The nouns CD is the first in the series, with verbs, prepositions and adjectives to follow shortly.

The software is designed to be used on individual computers, with the matching and finding activities included, or to be shared on a whiteboard for vocabulary work. Included are 240 good images grouped into seven categories, such as parts of the body and furniture.

Everything is configurable. You can set fonts or colour combinations that pupils are used to; and you can remove some words, like "spatula" or "thimble", that may be beyond their experience.

You can also turn off whole categories and games to focus the pupils on the activities they need to do. The exercises can be adapted for switch users, and speech or text support, or both, is available.

Overall, this is an easy-to-use, visually rich package that is focused on learning.
