LSIS to live on

The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) has denied reports that it is to be abolished, saying it is undergoing a change in its source of funding. A spokeswoman said: "The intention, as discussed with both LSIS board and council, is to move away from a direct grant funding regime so that LSIS can become a fully sector-led body, initially by receiving support through the Skills Funding Agency."
