Making a meal of targets

15th September 2006 at 01:00
The Scottish Executive has admitted that only one of its 11 education targets for 2006, set in 2002, has been achieved.

An increase in the nutritional value and presentation of school meals, and improved take-up, has been met.

However, others have not been, or they have been replaced, or are "ongoing". The target of having 53,000 teachers in place is for 2007.
