Making fitness fun

7th February 2003 at 00:00
Le Crunch Crew, a group of animated apples led by the tirelessly cheerful Granny Smith, first made their mark in a dietary information pack for primary schools, stimulated by the grim fact that obesity among young children is growing alarmingly. Now they're back in Le Crunch Crew Play Time, adding fun and fitness to the health-promoting message. The new pack contains ideas for apple acrobatics, apple aerobics and apple athletics.

And after their relay race they can write a haiku or a proverb with the same fruity theme. Le Crunch Crew Play Time resource pack, teachers' notes, activity cards, poster, competition and video is available from Sopexa UK, Kingsbourne House, 229231 High Holborn, London WC1V 7DE.
