Malone two

Sorry we've taken so long to thank Bruce Malone for thanking us re his mention on this page.

The heidie of St Andrew's Secondary in Glasgow, you will remember, welcomed his teachers back from their hols with a personal letter delivered to their homes, which alerted them to the on-the-job delights awaiting them.

Noting Jotter's "great PR for our school" in his staff newsletter, Malone said the action-packed return to the new session had also included "a brief school board meeting and (addressing) a parish congregation at an evening Mass". Give that man a rise.

Returning incidentally to the department of interesting names, we learn from the St Andrew's newsletter that the school contact for its first social outing to a bowling alley is Miss Kathy Beers.
