On the right track

The National Railway Museum in York will host Putting Mathematics on the Right Track! on 15 June - a day-long conference full of inspirational ideas to take back to the classroom.

What is it?

Led by maths educators Steve Lomax, Douglas Butler and TES maths adviser Craig Barton, the day will be divided into three, 70-minute workshops focusing on the latest and most imaginative methods of teaching maths: numbers and algebra; shape, space and measures; and data handling and statistics.

How to enrol

It runs from 10am-4pm and costs #163;120 plus VAT or #163;60 plus VAT for full-time students. Registration forms are available from bit.lyKo0W97. TES users get a discount and can attend for #163;100. Quote "TES" when applying.

What else?

TES launched a competition in March offering three free places at the conference for the most innovative maths resources. Why not try these two winning entries:

Barbie and Ken's transformation adventure. Alutwyche guides pupils around a department store and arranges Barbie and Ken's penthouse through transformation calculations.

Investigating probability activities. Vhughes5 shares resources where pupils can play with probability through dice games.
