Maths summed up

Edinburgh's education department has produced a complete numeracy pack for P1 and P2 classes which is being used in schools across the city and can be bought by other schools and local authorities.

Total Numeracy, developed by teachers Steve MacEachainn and Susan Shipway, includes lesson plans, games, assessment materials and other resources. The teachers' pack with two teachers' books, a copy masters book, 14 plastic picture sheets, 140 picture cards and 40 game boards costs pound;200; the P1 and P2 pupil packs of 20 workbooks for the year cost pound;48.
