Boots, the pharmacy, has enlisted the help of children's poet Roger McGough to launch a guide for parents and primary school teachers to help children recognise the signs of swine flu.

The guide features an animated character called Sneezy Sneezalot, who demonstrates all of the visual manifestations of flu that children need to learn to look out for, such as sneezing, a red or runny nose, flushed face or hot forehead.

Paul Bennett, superintendent pharmacist at Boots UK, said: "We're delighted to have such a well-known figure as Roger McGough on board, who manages to clearly communicate tricky messages in comical verse."
