In memory of a princess

A CHILDREN'S award in memory of Princess Diana is to be made permanent, Education and Employment Secretary David Blunkett announced this week. The Diana Princess of Wales Award, honours pupils for improving the lives of others, their communities or showing outstanding personal deveopment in difficult circumstances. Young people have been nominated in the scheme's first year for fundraising for local hospitals, helping younger pupils, campaigning for safer roads and even for inventing gadgets to make school life easier for pupils with disabilities.
