Met backs academy

Birmingham Metropolitan College has become the latest further education institution to sponsor an academy for students aged 11 to 18. An existing school is expected to reopen as Harborne Academy in September, with new buildings due to be complete by 2013. Principal Christine Braddock said the sponsorship would allow the college to create new opportunities for progression.
