'Miserly' grant

Students have attacked the "miserly" Government grant for sixth-formers that aims to stop 16-year-olds dropping out of education.The National Union of Students said young people were "angry and disappointed" to find that most of them would not qualify for the pound;30-a-week payment, because it was being phased in over time.
