12th September 2003 at 01:00
Mark Haysom, the former Mirror Group executive, is on the warpath against jargon in his new job as chief executive of the Learning and Skills Council.

Ferret hears that, having discovered the amount of pointless waffle used by his new colleagues, he has decided they should, as a tabloid person might put it, cut the crap and use proper English. Following his first day at the LSC, he has announced "this has to stop".

Good Luck Mr Haysom.
