Mocks for SATs

12th March 2004 at 00:00

Telling seven-year-olds that key stage 1 tests are "the real exams" is exaggerated and far from advisable. But if you must get children to work their way through past papers rather than develop broader learning skills, SATs Practice Papers from CGP offers full sets of papers for all KS1-3 national curriculum tests. The packs each contain an answer book and full mark scheme, and they are recommended by the publishers for "mocks" and homework exercises. However, teachers might be better advised to make the questions the focus of active shared classroom discussion. SATs Practice Papers cost around pound;2.50 per pack for schools.
