Neil Jones has shared two superb worksheets to help students speak about films they have seen.
What is it?
- Worksheet 1: Descripciones de Peliculas en Espanol includes a matching translation activity in which students must find the English translation for sentence openers in Spanish. Then they write short reviews of five films - some blockbusters, some Spanish - to introduce them to the country's cinema while developing their vocabulary. Language hints and grade criteria are included.
- Worksheet 2: Mis Opiniones is a prompt sheet to help students express their opinions. It starts with the basics - I lovelikehate - and includes a list of film genres to get students communicating in simple sentences. Then they must write down their thoughts about five different films using the provided list of words for guidance.
Ask pupils to create a film review website or blog that they can build on over the summer term - an excellent way to build vocabulary and practise tenses. Incorporate this into a foreign film festival, in which students discover films from Spain, France and further afield.
