However supercharged your batteries, they do have a limited lifespan - until now. The Pure Energy Battery Corporation is distributing the first rechargeable, mercury-free alkaline batteries. Known as RAM (rechargeable alkaline manganese) cells, they last ten to 50 times as long as conventional alkaline batteries. The simple charger fits into a 13 amp wall socket.
