An extra pound;400,000 more than originallyJearmarkedJwas givenJby the Assembly government to fund continual professional development teachingJprogrammes in 2006-7,Jit has been reported. Originally, just Pounds 2.5 million was set aside for CPD. Funding for 2007-8 will rise to pound;3m. Hayden Llewellyn, GTCW deputy chief executive, said: "Teachers are under huge pressure to be culturally relevant and up-to-date."
