2nd January 2004 at 00:00
The Scottish Arts Council has extended its Creative Links programme and announced seven new posts across the country for arts education co-ordinators. This means 14 local authorities now have Creative Links officers, with a further four based with Children in Scotland, Imaginate, Youthlink Scotland and Young Scot.

The officers work with professional artists and arts organisations to deliver a range of experiences in formal and informal settings. Projects so far have involved jazz orchestras, youth theatres, film-making, drug awareness programmes and anti-racism initiatives.

The SAC also has announced four pound;25,000 commissions for artists, which will be developed by Aberdeen City, East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire councils.
