More teachers on dole

The number of teachers in England and Wales claiming unemployment benefit has risen by 75 per cent in two years. Those claiming Jobseeker's Allowance climbed from 2,610 in July 2008 to 4,580 in July this year. The claimant figures do not show how many qualified teachers may be working in temporary posts in other industries.
