More time to vote in GTC elections

THE deadline for voting in the General Teaching Council election has been extended because 1,001 teachers did not receive their ballot forms. Voters now have until noon April 5 to return their papers and the result will be annouced by April 13.

A total of 134 candidates are standing for just 11 seats in the secondary teacher category. In the primary section, 47 will contest 11 seats. A total of 340,000 teachers have registered to vote.
