MP for teacher

16th March 2001 at 00:00
DRASTIC measures are being taken to remove Phil Willis, Lib Dem education spokesman, from politics. The DFEE has sent him a letter, inviting him to return to teaching. A new pension arrangement meant he could teach part time without affectig his pension. Mr Willis said: "Have I been such a thorn in Blunkett's side that he wants me out of politics? I gather that there is a chief inspector of schools role becoming available. That might tempt me."
