Munn retort;Jotter

8th May 1998 at 01:00
Charles Munn of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland (no relation to the report of that ilk) was busy explaining to Catholic heads at their recent conference what banks require of today's school leavers. They must show people skills, communication skills, accuracy, adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative, ambition, team skills, leadership skills and integrity.

This drew a sceptical response from one heidie who asked if bankers of all people were really looking for people with integrity.

"Well, I think somewhere in there it says you've got to have three Highers," Munn explained. Phew, relief all round.
