'Nanny guidance' wastes #163;1.5bn

Central government departments could save #163;1.5 billion a year by cutting "nannying guidance" issued to town halls, the Local Government Association has said. In response to a consultation by the Department for Communities and Local Government, the LGA said central government must "eliminate" guidance notes.
