National day of poetry

Poetry will be heard everywhere on October 10, National Poetry Day, from television and radio to trains, answering machines, libraries and swimming pools. The National Theatre on London's South Bank is celebrating with a week of dramatisations and readings of Samuel Beckett's poetry. There is also an "Exploring Poetry" workshop for 11 to 18-year-olds, October 5 and 6, Pounds 7.50. Details: 0171 928 5214.
