New directors take the reins

DONALD DUNCAN and Hamish Vernal are taking over as directors of education in Moray and Aberdeenshire following the early retirements of Kevin Gavin and Michael White.

Mr Duncan, aged 45, has been acting director of education, community developmet and leisure services for the past three months.

Mr Vernal, 55, is currently head of education and takes over in June. He is a former primary headteacher and adviser and latterly acted as assistant director of education in Grampian.
