New face in shadow team

CONSERVATIVE party vice-chairman John Hayes, 42, has been appointed as a shadow education spokesman. Mr Hayes trained as a history and English teacher, but then joined an educational omputer firm in 1983 until his election in 1997 as MP for South Holland and The Deepings in Lincolnshire. He replaces John Bercow, who moves to home affairs.
