New GTC chief is appointed

Alan Meyrick is the new chief executive of the General Teaching Council for England (GTC), which will be shut down by the Government by the end of March 2012. Mr Meyrick has been deputy chief executive of the GTC for two years and will take over from current head Keith Bartley next month.
