The British Mathematics Colloquium and the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium have held separate annual meetings for the past 50 years, but are to combine forces from next year. The first joint British Mathematical and Applied Mathematical Colloquium will take place at Warwick University, April 7-12, 2002. Speakers include: Jonathan Chapman, Oxford University, Richard Karp, UC and International Computer Science Institute, Berkeley and Vladimir Zakharov, Landau Institute Moscow and Arizona.
