(Photograph) - It is perhaps not surprising that lecturer Paddy Doyle's specialism is running a course on access to the armed services, writes Steve Hook. While the rest of us have already broken our new year's resolutions, the ultra-disciplined tutor, of Solihull College, is pressing on with plans to break 20 fitness records this year. He has already smashed 142 such records, one involving 716 step-ups in one hour on a 15in bench while carrying a 56lb backpack. The previous world record was 390.
