Nominate your top colleagues

1st December 2006 at 00:00
Nominations have opened for the Design and Technology Association's excellence awards. Members are being asked to nominate deserving colleagues in seven categories: outstanding contribution, teacher training, subject leadership, outstanding teacher, outstanding teacher post 16, outstanding newcomer and exceptional support.

Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony on March 9 at the Royal Society in London.

Richard Green, chief executive of the association, said: "The awards give professional recognition to all those involved in design technology teaching. The winners are often so humble and don't realise that what they have done is tremendous. I encourage any members thinking about nominating a colleague to do so now."

Nominees do not have to be members of the association.

* The closing date for nominations is Tuesday, December 5. Forms can be downloaded from www.data.org.uk or telephone Beth Williams on 01789 473 906.
