North York Moors National Park

The North York Moors National Park contains some of England's most attractive and varied scenery, from heather-bright hills to spectacular seacoasts. Despite foot and mouth disease, the park authority is promoting a series of summer activities. These include walking, climbing, abseiling and kayaking events and, for small children, a teddy bears' picnic. There are exhibitions of arts and crafts, many of which draw on local features. Windsurfing, life-boating and dinghy sailing add the North Sea's challenges to those of the land.
