Bjorn Ulvaeus, the former Abba member and composer, has criticised faith schools, arguing that young people should receive an education free of religious influence. Mr Ulvaeus said he was concerned by the growing influence of faith schools in his native Sweden. Writing for the English-language Swedish website The Local, he said: "Schools should provide a safe haven from all ideologies," but he added children should learn as much about as many of them as possible.
