Not possessive about apostrophes

The Diary is pleased to hear that the QCA is getting tough on the greengrocer's apostrophe. And so dismayed to read this sentence in a new QCA leaflet about coursework: "Candidates must have read... the Joint Council for Qualifications document that outlines candidates coursework responsibilities. "As the old journalist's adage goes: "When in doubt, leave out."
