INDIA A Bombay wildife body, Ahimsa, has launched a public awareness campaign to save snakes from torture by snake-charmers.

The organisation began distributing leaflets recently to warn people that the charmers, in order to be able to lure the reptiles out of their baskets with pipe music, first pull out the snakes' poisonous fangs.
