Becky Walker and Gwen Jing, members of the Global Student Forum, which gives sixth-formers the opportunity to meet politicians, development practitioners and campaigners, quizzed international development minister Mike Foster on Government plans to educate girls in developing countries.

Jane McAdam Freud, artist, daughter of painter Lucian Freud and great granddaughter of psychoanalysis founder Sigmund, worked with Year 10 pupils at Whitton School in Twickenham as part of the Segro Young Artists programme for 2010.

Year 8 and 9 pupils from schools in Walsall, West Midlands, battled it out to come up with a new blueprint for the town, creating models of their improved designs.
