These play planters helped Hillside Primary School in Huddersfield and builder Morgan Ashurst win the LABC West Yorkshire Building Excellence award for education.

Helen Young, from The Friary School in Lichfield, received a national award for teaching excellence from the Royal Geographical Society.

Pupils from Stoke Bishop CofE Primary in Bristol helped launch the Avon Wildlife Trust's new school grounds survey. A #163;1,000 makeover is up for grabs for one of the local primaries taking part.

A total of 400 children from London borough schools are taking part in Step LIVE!, an open-access dance initiative showcase at Sadler's Wells on July 11. Visit www.stepintodance.org to purchase tickets.

The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction has lept to the aid of the Connecting Classrooms cultural exchange project. Pupils from St Peter's CofE Primary in Cumbria (above) visited a school in Maipu, near the Chilean capital of Santiago, where both enjoyed donated Peter Rabbit dolls and books.
