LGBT History Month

Young gardener of the year

The Royal Horticultural Society has begun its quest to find the most knowledgeable, enthusiastic and talented young gardener in UK schools. It is open to children up to the age of 16. Teachers must nominate pupils by 18 May.


The world of work

A new initiative aims to educate children about the workplace. Accessed via a subscription, the Yes Programme's bank of 90 career-related films and resources covers key stage 2 core subjects and provides real-life illustrations.

Charles Darwin's birthday

On 12 February, celebrate 204 years since the birth of naturalist Charles Darwin, who pioneered the theory of evolution by natural selection. Learn more about evolution at Darwin's home, the English Heritage-run Down House in Kent.
