Nutrition strategy for pre-fives

23rd July 2004 at 01:00
The Scottish Executive is developing a healthy eating strategy for under-fives, which will be announced in the autumn, and will send menu-planning software to primary schools early in the session. Hungry for Success, the healthy nutrition programme for primary schools, has started to pay dividends with a rapid spread of free fruit, healthier canteen options and a rise in the number of healthy tuck shops. The Executive also plans to develop more classroom resources this year for lessons in healthy eating for primary and nursery schools.
